Hello! Would you like to be a guest on our podcast? We’d love that! (Maybe. Are you Elon Musk? If so you aren’t invited).
What sort of people are we looking for?
Honestly, we’re a friendly bunch and make it as easy as possible to join in (hopefully). All you have to do is have some opinions about Tech for Good and for those opinions to be vaguely credible. And a story people might want to hear about. (If you work at ALL in tech for good, people will want to hear your story we promise.
We want you involved if you’re a first time podcaster, if you don’t think you’re that ‘techy’, if you’re from the charity, public or private sectors!
The sorts of people we’ve had on before:
Charity social media managers
People involved in the rollout of council digital inclusion strategies
People running tech start ups aiming to help the recycling industry
People who work for design agencies working in the social good space
Why should I want to be on your podcast?
No idea mate. We do it because we like chatting about tech for good (and bad) with nice people every week. We try to ignore the fact that we have 500 worldwide listeners… that’s a bit scary. Just forget about them.
What is expected of me if I join?
We’ll be recording 2 30 min podcasts in a 1 hour slot
1. NEWS (where we have opinions we aren’t qualified to have)
We’ll run through the tech for good news of the week (like the newspaper headline section on breakfast TV). We update the agenda full of links a day or two before (so we’re current) and will send it over. feel free to send us any you see that might be interesting or comment on the agenda.
2. INTERVIEW (where we make friends with people we like)
We’ll have a chat with you about you, what you’re up to or a key topic you’d like to discuss. We’ll have some guiding questions, but as ever, expect some veering.
We’ll need you to have access to wifi, a computer with speakers and a mic (can just be your in-built ones or any fancy ones you might have!), and access to somewhere quiet for an hour. It’s an audio only podcast but we like to take a screen grab for social and we have video we use to help us record.
We record ‘as live’ for minimal editing and a natural flow of conversation. This means that if your internet is dodgy, we’ll try and carry on (Try turning your video off!) Swears are allowed. We release within 2 weeks. You will be joined by 2-3 or the Tech for Good Live Regular team, and they’ll be in the invite and agenda.
Ok I’m in, what now?
We have a form to fill out below. We have about 20 guests a year, and we do get quite a lot of requests. We’ll choose the line up based on a bunch of stuff but mainly all come under diversity of experience and person, and people who sound fun and interesting!
If we can get you on a pod we’ll reply and schedule you asap, it might take a few weeks as we schedule in seasons each quarter. You’ll get an invite with more details about the actual recording session and if you want a pre pod catch up, you’re welcome to (you can tell us in the form)
We’ll send over the agenda shortly before the podcast (so we’re timely with the news, this sometimes might be the day before)
